Baby story (Long Post)

Isn't it amazing how every baby is different?  I have 4 beautiful boys and all of them are so different from each other. I have been thinking a lot along these lines, about my boys as I have watched them this last week. And then I start to notice their similarities. Each of my children look different, and yet you can tell they are all brothers. They all have the same nose, head shape, they have high cheekbones....  I am amazed at the beauty each one of possesses and the gifts of a loving Heavenly Father.

Man I am just rambling. It's late and I'm out of whack with Jonathon's sleeping habits.

So here is Jonathon's story.
So after I was induced last week and it didn't take, I was sent home in the hopes that I would go on my own and was rescheduled for another induction that next Friday. This was very disheartening for me as my parents had come to be with the kids and after 24 hours of contractions and back cramps, I felt discouraged. I decided to do what I could to help this little guys along. I cleaned my bathrooms and shoveled snow. i went walking in the freezing rain-snow... and when I went in, I was still a 3. So, after another night of Cervadil, and a morning of Pitosin, I was starting to get discouraged again, because my contractions were slowing down and I was farther along than I have ever been with my kids. I did not want to be sent home again. I was out in the hall walking around when I started seeing flashes of lights-they looked like little fireflies. That really freaked me out, as that is a sign of preclampsia- exactly what i was trying to avoid. The doctor came in to visit and we talked about my other deliveries and I told her that after my water was broken, it went really fast. She checked me and I was a 5. They decided to put a monitor on his head and to break my water to see if that would help things along. Basically showing signs and no change- meant we got to get this baby out of here quickly. They were getting the magnesium ready and called in the pediatrician to let him know- because the medicine transfers to baby.  So they do the procedure and almost immediately I go into heavy labor.  I was calling for the epidural and my contractions were hard and fast. The lady came and was prepping me and as she went in during a contraction- she went down the left side and it started sending shocks down the front of my thigh. I yelped and she pulled back out and tried again. Repeating the same thing over again. She chose a higher spot and went in again and made it down the center and called it good. They kept giving me injections in the next few minutes hoping they would help and nothing. She didn't place the epidural correctly and i was changing to fast that they couldn't give me anything for the pain. I remember asking for anything even something topical:) Nope. I was stuck at a 9 and he was finally coming and it happened so quickly that my body wasn't  ready. Well, after a great big epesiotomy and suction cups he was here. It took 2 hours from the time they broke my water for Jonathon Isaac Morley to be born at 4:30 p.m.. The doctors said he was the pinkest baby they had seen right after birth. His long feet and fingers were also greatly talked about. His long black hair was what stuck out to me. But honestly, I didn't want to hold him or anything until about 10 minutes after and I finally was given some pain meds. Lets just say sutures suck unless your numb. I think if I ever have to get a job out of my home, I will definitely put natural birth as one of the hardest things I have ever done and accomplished. I know Heavenly Father was with me and helping me, I just kept praying in my head that I needed his help and couldn't do it alone. I am so grateful for his love and tender mercies. Scott was great and I am so glad he could be there with me. We had it all planned when Jonathon would come and my parents had come and he's gotten people to cover his rotations and then Jonathon didn't come until a week later. I am grateful to my parents for coming an staying even longer than they had planned and for all their help with the kids. I am thankful for everyone who brought us meals and came to visit. We have been truly blessed.  Jonathon had jaundice and was on billi lights for 4 days. Thankfully it was a portable light so he could move from room to room. And home nurses came so we didn't have to go to the hospital every day.  He's off the lights now and has gained some weight back, although he's still not quite birth weight. Friday he went in and was circumcised and he's doing great.
Jonathon is a very beautiful baby boy, and we are loving having him in our family. The kids love helping me with him. Especially burping him- boys..go figure:)  Travis loves to look at him. When he gets up in the morning he runs into our room (where the bassinet is) and looks for baby. He gets a surprised look of wow on his face when he looks at him. He loves to touch, poke and pat baby. I love how sweet my boys are with their new little brother. They've also been great at forgiving me if I nod off watching a movie with them. 4 boys= no sleep:) And I wouldn't have it any other way. I love my family, my hubby, and I cant wait for this sweet little angel to grow and develop his own personality.  He is sleeping amazingly. from like 11p.m. to 5a.m.!  Lets hope it continues!  I'll try to post some pics tomorrow.
